The United States-Japan Alliance serves as a lynchpin for Indo-Pacific regional security, reinforcing the leadership role of the two countries among like-minded nations. While the alliance is in essence a matter of national-level governance, the private sector also plays an essential role in enhancing capabilities, innovation, and capacity of the alliance.
On February 8 2023 (Washington, D.C.)/February 9 (Tokyo), the Japan-America Society of Washington DC, the National War College, and the National War College Alumni Association will host the eighth annual partnership event studying the U.S.-Japan Alliance in the Indo Pacific. This year’s event, the Contemporary Role of the Defense Sector, will delve into matters such as information security, security clearance processes, globalization of supply chains, and the increasingly trans-national nature of modern corporations, in order to better understand the nuances that define the private sector’s opportunities and challenges as key players in the US-Japan alliance and Indo-Pacific Security. This year’s event is held in partnership with the ACCJ-NAJAS Business Leader Series.
