Join us for a special Oshougatsu
(New Years) Japanese Cooking Class as we prepare to celebrate the New Year. For our Oshougatsu feast we will be preparing chikuzenni. Chikuzenni (筑前煮) is a simmered chicken and vegetable dish commonly eaten during Oshougatsu in Japan and is believed to grant one long-lasting happiness. 

Check the ingredients list before registering.  Once registered you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link. We will send the recipe card a week before the class.

Ingredients

  • 120g chicken thigh filet
  • 100g carrot
  • 100g boiled bamboo shoots
  • 100g burdock
  • 100g lotus root
  • Konnyaku (Japanese herb jelly)
  • Dried shiitake mushroom
  • 60g snow peas
  • 200mL dashi stock
  • 100mL shiitake liquid
  • Sake
  • Mirin
  • Soy sauce
  • Sugar
